Private hospitals can no longer pass the buck when it comes to disposal of bio-medical waste. In an effort to streamline the implementation of bio-medical waste disposal rules, the southern bench of the National Green Tribunal has directed private hospitals to make the process of disposal transparent by uploading all details on the website along with bar coding of waste .Earlier, petitioner for the case Jawaharlal Shanmugam of Thiruvanmiyur had submitted pictorial evidence of a hospital selling around 230kg of bio-medical waste to a company .
